As the fury of climate change, starvation and drought takes its toll,
The goodness in people shines bright,
A beacon even in the darkest night.
With every act of love and care,
The world is healed, one heart at a time,
As millions join by hearts and minds to spread,
The message of hope, that must be said.
Stay strong, stay true, together we’ll get through.
For in the end, when all is done,
The good in people will have won,
A legacy of love and peace,
That will never ever cease.
The Good in People
Human kindness and resilience. The scenes in this poem describe a world both beautiful and broken, and the ways in which we all can make a difference in the face of despair. From the storms of climate change to the wars and hate that tear at our societies, this poem reminds us that the light of love and compassion can never be extinguished. As we move forward into the uncertain future, let us always remember to cultivate a strong and decent heart at all times so we can weather any challenge with grace and dignity. For it is through the power of the human spirit that we will build a better world, one giving and thoughtful act at a time.
Note: I gave some instructions to ChatGPT to generate this poem. The elements of each stanza were then entered into Midjourney to create and generate the images. I made modifications to the generated text for cohesion.

In the night, my mind takes flight
To a world of fantasy so bright
Brilliant electric colors shine
With circular and symmetrical design
Ornate flowers and leaves entwine
In a spiral of growth so divine
Against the black, it’s lovely to behold
Light art and glitter, a wonder to unfold
Gaze for a while and you’ll see a masterpiece of old.

In the silence of night,
Electric colors dance in light,
A symmetrical display so bright,
Fantasy made real, a brilliant sight.
In diamond prisms, starshine gleams,
Ornate patterns, like intricate dreams,
My soul enraptured, empathy it seems,
Love reflected in these glittering beams.

In a world of fantasy and dreams,
Where brilliant colors reign supreme,
A spiral of emotions rise,
As red, yellow, and blue flowers surprise,
A giving soul, heartfelt and true,
Caring for people, just like you.
Reminders of love in floral form,
Golden moments to keep us warm,
Loving and caring, a precious art,
A reminder to share our giving heart.

Editor’s Note: I’m trying something new with images generated with Midjourney by combining them into the Blender 3D Video Sequencer. In this post, I input the image prompts with some flowery language modifications into ChatGPT to create the poem. In all the animations in this post, there are only 16 images, animation makes it seem like more. I rendered the animations in Blender and output to .MP4 file format and then translated into a .GIF using Giphy.
There’s a man who dreams of flight, of soaring through the clouds and perhaps touching a rainbow,
He longs to fly like a giant bird in the sky,
But settles for a jog and a hearty sigh.
In a quaint and peaceful town,
There’s a woman who longs to wear a crown.
She dreams of jewels and a throne to sit,
But settles for a cup of tea and a bit of jasmine mint.
At the end of a long and flowery elegy,
There’s a boy who yearns to be free.
He longs to sail to the edge of the earth,
But settles for a slice of cake and milk instead.
On a lonely rock at the edge of the forest,
There’s a gecko who dreams of being the tallest.
It yearns to reach the top of the trees,
But settles for a hike and a peaceful breeze.
A woman on a boat, sailing through the seas,
Wishes for a mermaid, to join her please.
She hears a splash, and sees a fin,
But it’s just a dolphin, not the creature within.
She’s not bothered, she’s content with now.
In the rolling hills of the countryside,
There lived a man with a peculiar pride,
He longed for a horse with a rainbow mane,
To ride it and show off in the local lane.
It’s just a small dream, but for now the sun’s warmth over the fields of wheat will do.
In the mystical forest of an ancient land,
There lived a woman with a magic wand,
She craved for a potion of eternal youth,
To sip it and forever live with verve and truth.
She knew it’s folly, so she is settling for here and now and it’s true worth.
In a distant land there was a trader,
Upon first glance, one may say he is a fader.
But make no mistake, he knew his wares.
He dreamt of making the perfect sale,
and perhaps, he could acquire the funds to fix his ails.
Nevertheless, he knows his worth no matter.
At the end of the long day,
all he had were a few tears to glance his comforting friendly cocktail.
His dream was to escape the politics and spree.
The Senate can languish, for all he cared.
Finally, he had settled to tell the truth and escape the lies and engulfing despair.
Dreams are dreams and some days they are all I have.
No job, no friends, nobody to care for me.
I dream of just one day, maybe it’s tomorrow, when my autism doesn’t blind me.
I dream of just one day where I don’t have to worry where I will sleep.
I won’t cry, not now, I will settle for the cheese sandwich from the church today.
I feel sorry for my momma; she works all day.
Making tortillas over a hot stove for the busy restaurant.
I wish she didn’t have to work so hard, and we still don’t have much food.
I dream of better days for me and momma.
So, today, I will cheer her up and let her know today is a good day.
Oh, the dreams we have,
Oh, the things we long for,
Our hearts desire, our spirits soar.
Sometimes it’s best to settle for less,
And find joy, perhaps a moment of peace and laughter in the moment’s caress.
But in those days where heartfelt pain is paramount,
and peace and laughter are far away,
Our dreams may be what keep us alive
in today and now.
The Dreams We Have

From mountains high to oceans deep, A journey of wonder I long to keep, To see the grandest sights of Earth, And marvel at their size and worth.
But beyond the scope of our naked eye, Lies a world too small for us to spy, Atoms, particles, the quantum realm, A universe within, a tiny helm.
To explore this vastness, I yearn, To uncover secrets yet to learn, From the grandest mountains to the smallest cell, The journey of discovery, I long to dwell.
People from around the world share their incredible stories of imagination.
I close my eyes and my imagination takes over, transporting me to a dinner table filled with the most delicious Mexican-style cuisine. The aroma of sizzling chicken enchiladas on-fire and then suddenly smothered in a tangy green verde sauce makes my mouth water as I reach for the crispy chips and zesty guacamole. The refried beans cooked with garlic and the flavorful Mexican-style rice complete the savory side dishes. My taste buds dance with each bite, craving more and more of the flavorful and spicy food. And for dessert, the warm and fluffy sopapillas drizzled with honey are the perfect finale to this culinary journey. As I open my eyes, I find myself holding a peanut-butter sandwich. Ugh.
I live in a world of pure imagination. A place where every person has a home, not just any home, but a beautiful, comfortable, and cozy home. I see children playing outside on the clean streets, breathing in the fresh air, and laughing with joy. There are no longer people considered homeless, and everyone has access to clean drinking water and delicious food. The world is a utopia where everyone is content, happy, and living in peace. My heart fills with hope and optimism as I dream of this world, and I vow to do everything in my power to make it a reality.
I am Rohit, a physicist from India, and as I sit here in my lab, my mind wanders to a world of the future where every person on this planet has equal access to medical care and medications. I imagine a world where the quality of healthcare does not depend on one’s wealth or social status. In my vision, there is no discrimination, no poverty, and no war. I believe that capitalism should not decide who gets the care they need to survive. Instead, we should strive for a future full of hope and optimism, where people from all over the world can pursue their dreams in academics and beyond. In my mind, I can see a world where the barriers that divide us are broken down, and everyone has the same opportunities to thrive.
As a 13-year-old girl, I have a vivid imagination and big dreams for the future. I often find myself daydreaming about the day when racism no longer exists in our world. I imagine a world where we no longer refer to each other by colors such as black, brown, white, yellow, and many others. In this world, everyone is treated with equality, respect, and dignity, regardless of their skin color.
I know that achieving a world free from racism is not an easy feat, but I am ready to put in the work. I will use my voice to speak out against racism, educate others on its negative impact, and work towards creating a more inclusive and accepting society. My dream may seem far-fetched, but I believe that with determination, resilience, and a little bit of imagination, anything is possible.
As a pastry chef, I have a wild imagination when it comes to creating new treats and bakery items. From the moment I wake up, the aroma of freshly baked croissants and chocolate chip muffins tickles my ears and my nose hairs and the aromas set my mind racing. I dream of a world filled with fluffy marshmallow cupcakes, delicate lavender macarons, and sticky cinnamon buns oozing with icing. My favorite treat to make is a peanut butter and jelly cheesecake that combines the creamy richness of cheesecake with the tangy sweetness of grape jelly. I can’t wait to greet my regular customers with joy and share my latest creations with them, knowing that each bite will tantalize their taste buds and leave them craving more.
I’m 8 years old and I love math, but the boys at school are so mean to me. They push me around and call me names just because I like numbers. I wish they would stop and see that math is cool, but they won’t listen. Sometimes I daydream about being a grown-up and not having to deal with these mean boys anymore. I still like going to school, but I just wish the other boys weren’t so mean to me.
I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw the massive machine in front of me. As a curious journalist, I had stumbled upon the secret laboratory of a mad scientist who was on the verge of opening up a black hole over New York City. The scientist was completely lost in his own imagination, dreaming of a world where humans no longer existed and the universe was finally safe from their destructive tendencies. But just as he was about to pull the lever, the doors burst open and a group of police officers stormed in. The mad scientist’s plans were shattered, and I couldn’t help but chuckle at the absurdity of it all as I was escorted out of the lab by the officers.
As I stared out at the vast expanse of the ocean, I couldn’t help but feel overwhelmed by the sheer amount of garbage and plastic floating in the water. The thought of all the marine life suffering because of our actions weighed heavily on my mind. But then, as I closed my eyes and let my imagination take over, I saw a giant vacuum cleaner being lowered into the ocean. With a powerful roar, it began sucking up all the garbage in its path, leaving behind only clear, pristine water. The more I imagined this scenario, the more hopeful I became. Maybe one day, I could help make this dream a reality by inventing new technologies to clean up our oceans.
You just read a diverse range of perspectives and ideas, and they all share a common thread: the power of a person’s imagination to envision a better future. Whether it’s a physicist dreaming of equal access to healthcare, a young girl imagining a world free from racism, a pastry chef conjuring up new and delicious treats, or a group of friends exploring education, each person is using their imagination to escape the limitations of the present and create a better tomorrow. Even in the face of challenges like bullying and pollution, the individuals in this story refuse to give up hope and instead use their creativity to find solutions. Together, they show us that no matter how big or small our dreams may seem, they have the power to inspire change in ourselves as well as make the world a better place.
Editor’s Note: The stories in this post were created by Floyd Kelly and then used as an input to ChatGPT to generate the ending. The illustrations are generated by Midjourney.
In last night’s dream, I was lost. I should say that again, but with capital letters – LOST!
There may be parts of my dream I don’t recall, but from the events that I do recall, and based on what transpired – I was so lost that when I woke, I was shocked, and the dream had a great impression on my mental state.
In my dream, I believe I was driving a car, but something happened. An unknown event occurred in the dream, and I was unable to recall that event.
I then find myself wandering through what seemed to be a golf course but the people there weren’t playing golf, they were playing some kind of other unrecognized sport. I watched people play and slowly more and more people started to show up at this location. The grass was manicured and with smooth sloping rolling hills.
For some reason I didn’t want the people to see me, so I wandered to an unknown place near the “golf course”.
I came across a structure that seemed to be a very large office building and next to the structure was a vast man-made water park with smooth plateaus and terraced with about 6 inches of water that covered the entire area and streamed through and through.
I walked through the water, over some plateaus and saw other people playing in the water.
I wandered away from this watery place to a nearby burger joint. I was hungry. I then realized that I did not have money to buy anything to eat.
And then, at this point I started to realize that I’m in trouble. I didn’t know where I was located, and I did not have any money to buy food.
I don’t recall why I didn’t have money and I did have my wallet with my driver’s license and debit card.
I then became very worried because I did not know where I was located, I didn’t even know the name of the town I was in or what happened before being at the “golf course”.
I then saw a man who appeared to have legal authority – a police officer perhaps.
He was at the burger joint, and he walked to the back of the building where he was filling out paperwork at a table.
I walked up to his table and asked, “Excuse me sir, are you a police officer?”. He seemed uninterested in me and continued to fill out papers until I said the phrase “I’m lost.”. When he heard me say that he quickly raised his head to look at me and I think he suddenly realized “Oh, oh.”.
I then had a conversation with him and explained to him that I am lost, and I am so lost that I didn’t know where I was at or how this came to be. I explained that I did have a car, but I did not know where the car was; I could only point in the general direction of where I came from.
The conversation continued and feelings of dread started to sink in. I could not explain to the officer anything because I could not recall anything.
I think he may have wanted to just let me be and I would eventually figure things out and then I explained to him that as each minute goes by and as I travel any further from my current location – that the situation would become worse.
Not only did I not know where I was at, what town, but I didn’t know any persons or where anything was located and I was afraid I was just going to be left on the street to wander and wander and not be able to return to my previous life.
I think I may have shown him my driver’s license and let him know that I was not a criminal or on the lam and also, I did not have any physical injuries from a possible car accident; physically, I seemed fine.
What does any of this mean? Who knows – as it is with dreams. When I woke, I was really moved by this dream, the feeling of being so lost in this manner shook me.
Oh, my dearest Lilia, how I dream of the days when we will be together forever and ever. My heart wonders of thine beautiful cutlery and silverware.
I long for you, oh dear Johnathan. The days grow long without you and my heart yearns for you immensely. Come to me Johnathan, I need you. I need you now.
Lilia, oh Lilia. Thine jewels entice me. Your estate so grand, it moves me. I will come to you soon, very soon. Do not be weary.
Oh Johnathan. My dear Johnathan. My grass grows taller each day. The weeds in the garden have overrun my flowers. The sound of the lawnmower is missing in my fruitful days. Come to me quickly.
Wait a minute. Is that all you want me for is to mow your lawn and be your gardener? Oh, how my heart breaks in two. My world doth be shattered.
Oh, dearest Johnathan, I must be fair. All you seek is my fine jewelry and silverware. But nevertheless, you must arrive at my castle soon before the sun sets on my youthful days and my beauty fades.
Oh Lilia, my heart doth break. Visions of thine loins entice me greatly. My world without you will be dark. These roses remindeth me of thine jewels. I come to you now.
Oh, give it up already! I know you’re only after my gemstones and finely crafted tapestries. Brumsley, my trusted private investigator informed me of your gonorrhea. And enough with the fancy Old-English talk. I know you’re up to something. However, I do need my lawn mowed very soon. So, come quickly dearest Johnathan. With much love and adoration.
I weepeth and weepeth over thee.
Visions of thine pork tenderloins … err … I mean … thy loins envelop my senses day and night. I now needeth tissues to dryeth my tears.
Do you like chocolate-chip cookies?
What? I love chocolate-chip cookies! I have a platter right here. When will you be arriving? My hedges in the garden are wild and bushy. My chocolate-chip cookies will give you much strength to pull out the weeds in my garden. Arrive quickly Johnathan.
I love chocolate-chip cookies too! See, our love is growing stronger now. I feeleth it in my heart. I truly do!
Tsk tsk Johnathan … Oh, I get it. You’re after our famous family chocolate-chip cookie recipe. That recipe has been in our family for generations. You’re just like all the other hussy hot muscle men. I’ll have you know that recipe is locked in a vault and only I have the key.
Oh dearest Lilia, I request to speaketh to thine private investigator, Brumsley. I will dispatch soon and harken him to showeth me the way to thine gardens of treasures.
Hey John, this is Brumsley … oops, I mean Kyle. Just sending you an e-mail to let you know I found out where she keeps the recipe. The key is in her Yoo-hoo. You know, the drink that’s on the shelf at the store that doesn’t need to be refrigerated. She keeps the key in an empty Yoo-hoo bottle … strange. I don’t know where she keeps the bottle though. I’m tired of this playing butler all the time.
Hey Kyle. I’m really sad and crying. I am kind of thinking we should move on, we’ve already spent two months trying to get that darn recipe and the expenses are piling up. I hear the Shentworth Estate might be a good prospect for getting that famous frozen-taco recipe. Think about it. I know you’re probably tired of playing butler. I’ll be checking-in to the Sapphire Hotel in Kenway Heights if you want to meet up and catch some bro time.
I’m crying too. I’m tired. We really messed up this job. I let it slip that you had gonorrhea and you kept talking like you were old-english. Ugh! I went to my dermatologist because now there’s a tiny freckle on my elbow. My dermatologist says the freckle is from PTSD due to making tea all the time and breathing in the aroma of cookies baking. I’ll see ya later man.
Hahahahaha!
I hear soap opera organ music – which means, it’s time to close today’s episode of “The Recipe Hustlers of Kenway Heights”. Tune in next week when we’ll see if Johnathan and Kyle manage to swipe some frozen-taco recipes.
Editor’s Note: This is probably the dumbest story I have ever written. The images were generated by Midjourney. This post was more of an experiment with Midjourney to see how well the artificial intelligence can retain characteristics of images in order to create an on-going character or character development within a storyline. After performing this experiment, I think Midjourney needs to develop further and so do my story-writing skills.
In 2018 I released my music CD titled “Saying my Goodbyes”. The liner notes for this music CD contains an allegory that I wrote with the same title.
I provided the liner notes as an input to ChatGPT and asked the artificial intelligence for a summary of the poem, and here is what ChatGPT has to say about the poem:
“Saying my Goodbyes” is a profound and thought-provoking poem that explores the nature of life, death, and the universe. The poem is an allegory that uses vivid and imaginative language to create a powerful emotional impact on the reader. Through the poem, the author reflects on the insignificance of human life in the grand scheme of the universe, while also emphasizing the importance of each individual’s unique story and journey. It is a beautifully crafted piece of literature that will leave readers feeling inspired and contemplative.
I wrote “Saying my Goodbyes” as my elegy and hopefully will be read at my service when I eventually pass away from this world. I also give permission to any person to print and recite the poem at any service, memorial or event in perpetuity. I am providing the poem within this post as text and also as a downloadable .PDF file. You can download the poem for printing by clicking here – “Saying my Goodbyes” by Floyd Kelly. At the end of this post is the related music that I created to accompany the poem, the music is titled “Guide Star Pegasi”.
Saying my Goodbyes
From the frozen echoes of star dust in flight, far beyond the guide star Pegasi; to reflecting upon water’s blue light – The Universe is beyond the colors we’ve seen. Still, the stars of old know nothing of me. Through the ages, our hearts have echoed through the mountains of lore; Impugned upon the creations of life; a paradox against the casts of realm. Wisdom says, all have been tasked to go steadfastly true; so, go forth we do. From the valleys of despair, to the cogs of industry; from the cries of the belly, to the pinnacles of the ego; one may only see all the colors when two is two. When a rusty violet is born with no choice to behold, enduring the stories of old; The stars cry out in deep sympathies, weeping songs of what is told. For, in our true selves, we say not words of disdain upon the flowers, nor to the brothers, nor to the sisters on life’s stage; for there is a grand story in us all, in the flowers and age. The passion of the winter blackbird; the call of the wild; echoes through eternity even before the stars beguiled. The long dark journey finally may rest. The star dust has another quest. Cloaked in memories; shadowed with sorrows; Emboldened with heartfelt good and true – Whether my place be on glistening white shores, lush fields of green, or a shining star far away – the beacons of hope shall always guide me in a very special way.

The idea that I wanted to express in the music titled “Guide Star Pegasi” was of loneliness in the Universe. I wanted to pretend that a shining star far away out in the Universe is lonely in a vast and cold environment, and I wanted to express that loneliness the star may feel if it had emotions.
It’s Saturday! That means it’s time again to share some divine letters that have been sent to our humble garage apartment. Get ready for some fun!
Dear Floyd – I’m Jeremy, a fan of yours from a small town that doesn’t even have a name. After reading all your poetry, I have to confess that I am completely infatuated with you. I know it sounds weird, but I daydream about the day when we’ll meet and embark on wild and wacky adventures. I envision us running away to join a circus and becoming circus clowns, or even building a giant paper airplane and flying to the moon. I’m not sure how we’ll make any of this happen, but I’m excited to see where our journey takes us. I’m enclosing a photo. Please write to me, please! Hope to meet you soon, Jeremy.
More Letters from the Mailbag, created by Floyd Kelly; generated by Midjourney text-to-image artificial intelligence.
Hi there Jeremy. Nice to meet you. Wow! Building a paper airplane to fly to the moon would be quite the accomplishment. Although, I think it would destroy a lot of trees to make it happen. You look like a nice happy fella. Thank you for writing to me and I wish you a grand day! Keep smiling! — Floyd
Dear Floyd – My name is Janny and I’m a huge fan of yours. I know this may sound strange, but I’ve been daydreaming about the day when you come to my diner and let me cook you some of my famous flaming super-hot tacos. They’re so hot, they’re quite fiery, and they’re served literally on-fire! I’m confident that you’ll love them. I have a fire extinguisher just in case things get too hot to handle. Until then, I’ll keep dreaming of the day we finally meet, and you get to try my flaming hot tacos. The trick to my mouth-watering tacos is 3 parts ghost pepper sauce to 1 part beef and a just a tiny sprinkle of habanero juice on top to add a little bit of spice. I also make fiery chicken-wings served on fire and gummy bears flaming for dessert, come visit me at “It Burns-a-Lot Diner” on Main Street in the downtown area, I work on Fridays only when business is really hot. Best regards, Janny from Bleakerton, Wisconsin.

Hi Janny! First, thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule to write to me. It means a lot to me. As for the hot tacos, I think I’m going to have to take a raincheck. My doctor tells me that I need to stay away from spicy foods – as spices and peppery foods irritate my stomach too much. It seems like you have a hot commodity there at the diner and I would like to wish you hot success! Have a great day! — Floyd
Dear Floyd – I hope this letter finds you well. My name is Blomker, and I am a big fan of yours. As a hungry vampire, I dream of the day when we finally meet, and you get to taste my special red velvet cake. I can guarantee it will be the best cake you’ve ever had.
I live in Kreeperton, Texas, and I have been waiting for you to visit me in my castle. I insist you arrive at midnight in a horse-drawn carriage, and make sure you come hungry for my special cake. You won’t regret it. I have been preparing for this moment for a long time, and I can’t wait to finally meet you in person.
As for my personal life, I come from a family heritage that spans back centuries. My great-great-great-grandfather, Count Von Blomker, was a notorious vampire who lived in Antarctica for centuries. But don’t worry, I’m not like him at all.
I’m sending you my photo so you can remember me. I hope you will consider my invitation and come visit me soon. I promise you will have a bloody good ol’ time, and my super special red velvet cake is not to be missed – or else. Sincerely, Blomker
More Letters from the Mailbag, created by Floyd Kelly; generated by Midjourney text-to-image artificial intelligence.
OK, Blomker, this is getting out of hand. Just for the record, I know who you truly are. Your name isn’t Blomker, it’s Steven. Your memory must be poor because you send me this same letter every year around Halloween. You don’t live in a castle; you’re not a vampire and you don’t like to cook or bake cakes. So, what gives? And what’s the deal with your teeth? I don’t know where you bought the fake teeth, but they don’t look real, and you may want to try and find a better place to shop for those fangs. Please do not send me any more letters. Thank you. — Floyd
Hi Floyd – My name is Betty-Jo from Halupteedoo, Michigan. I wanted to write you a short letter to let you know that you have two friends here in our small town. My pet rabbit, Mookie, likes you too and we just wanted to let you know that. I know you often experience depression because people don’t leave any comments on your web site, so I just wanted to lift your spirits. Please have a good day today! Your friend, Betty-Jo.

Hello to Betty-Jo and Mookie! Thank you for writing to me. It’s letters like yours that can change my day for the better. That’s a cute rabbit friend you have! Yes, I do remain sad that people don’t take any time to leave comments on my web site, but oh well. Once again, thank you for thinking of me and I hope you have a wonderful day! — Floyd
Dear Floyd. Thank you for displaying all of your art that you create with artificial intelligence. I find your works to be inspiring. My name is John and I live in New York. I am 75 years old and enjoy coffee way too much. I used to spend my days practicing my heavy breathing technique to sound like Darth Vader and entertain people passing by on the sidewalks as I sit and enjoy my coffee. I had to give it up eventually because the heavy breathing made my throat scratchy, and I would cough a lot. So, I found that playing with puppets and marionettes was more suitable to my talents. I’m enclosing a photo of me taken in 1929 when I was 75 years old. Have a good day. — John.
More Letters from the Mailbag, created by Floyd Kelly; generated by Midjourney text-to-image artificial intelligence.
Dear John; if that is your real name. Your letter states that in the photo you were 75 years old in 1929; and yet, here it is 2023 – how can this be true? Something tells me that your name is probably not John and more than likely this letter was sent in by Blomker or Steven – pulling a prank on me. Also, there was no Darth Vader in 1929. If any of your story is true, then you probably found the fountain of youth – in that case, bring some of that special youthful liquid to my place. See ya!
And that wraps up today’s sharing of letters that were sent in last week. If you have questions or comments, please write to me or leave a comment below. Your comments and letters mean a great deal to me and until next time, I wish you all a grand and wonderful day!

In tonight’s dream I had rented a room in an old run-down hotel far away from the city and in the beautiful mountains of a place I have visited before.
As the dream progressed, several other people also rented the same room I rented, and I recall several other people eventually renting the same room. So, what I thought was going to be my room turned into only having a bed in a small part of the rented room.
People I have never met in-real-life started showing up in my rental and I had a conversation with one man who stated that another person was mad at me because I called him a crackhead. I became confused because I didn’t know this person or the person he was referring to.
The dream switched to another scene where there was a person from my past who had mental health issues, loved his marijuana and was passing around the pot pipe and I didn’t want any part of that scene. There was a sense of dread starting to set in with the way the dream was progressing.
I return to my room that I rented, only to find about 30 or so people hanging out, chilling, drinking, smoking and the place was so full of bad odors that I almost upchucked. Justin Long, the actor from TV, was in my room, smoking a cigarette with a big smile on his face. I immediately evacuated the room because nobody was concerned about social distancing and COVID and there was no place to rest my weary head.
I was distraught.
The dream then switched to a parade of sorts and in the parade I see a man giving me the “evil-eye” while he passes by in a parade car. Turns out, it’s the man whom I supposedly called a “crackhead”. He was some kind of dignitary and wasn’t happy.
Realizing that my rental was not a place to rest, and all the other rooms were taken, I spotted a tree not far from the hotel room out by the river. So, I gathered what I could, went out and sat under the tree, covered myself up to go to sleep.
Today I say goodbye to Candy Crush Soda Saga – I managed to get to Level 4,132.
I started playing this game in July 2020 during the midst of the first COVID-19 wave. It did help me as I was in isolation.
This game has too many levels, at Level 4,132 the game has become so boring that I fall asleep playing the game.
Truth is, I would not recommend this game to anyone; mainly due to the levels being unfair and it is designed to make you want to open your wallet.
At the higher levels of the game, it is no longer exciting and defeats the goal of having fun. Enough! I need to get busy baking cookies, watering my Chia Pets, feeding my Sea Monkeys and other thingamajiggies.
Floyd Kelly makes it to Level 4,132 in Candy Crush Soda Saga.
A short story about what some people think about other people.
My name is Charles. I have a neighbor who thinks I’m a crackhead because of the way I look. She yells at me at least once a week saying all sorts of bad things and I become depressed. I’m scared of my neighbor and I’m afraid to talk to her. She always makes reference to my appearance and my wild hair. I don’t know why she is focused on my appearance. What my neighbor does not know is that I’m a cook in a senior citizen center and my days are full and busy with prepping meals and cooking for about 100 senior citizens in the town about 20 miles from here. I wish my neighbor would stop focusing on my appearance and knew what I do for people. I’m really sad.
What Some People Think, created by Floyd Kelly; generated by Midjourney text-to-image artificial intelligence.
My name is Tayla. I find myself constantly in a state of sadness, mostly because of how people treat me. Today, I think about the cashier at the store around the corner from where I live. When I buy something and he rings me up, he treats me badly and once said something about my hair. This happens a lot and some days I have a hard time coping with what people think about me. What is even more sad is that people like the cashier don’t know anything about me. I wonder if they would think differently if they knew that I’m a schoolteacher and my day is filled with teaching math and science to children who are eager to learn. It’s more than a full-time job and I devote my days to helping young people attain a better life for themselves.

My name is Malakai and I have to say that I am tired. I have worked in the same pharmacy for 32 years and in those years, I have met too many people to count. The days are overwhelming and when I look back on the past years, it seems like a blur. I have forged friendships with many of my customers and many days are filled with satisfaction. That being said, there are people who come into the pharmacy and treat me with disrespect; some have called me certain names regarding my ethnicity. I try not to think about those times but sometimes it is difficult. I wish those people knew how hard I work to ensure that people get their needed medications on-time and with safety.
What Some People Think, created by Floyd Kelly; generated by Midjourney text-to-image artificial intelligence.
My name is James. As you can see in my photo, I like to play football. It’s a sport I have enjoyed ever since I was young. The sport can be brutal at times, and I get my share of hits that cause me to take a break to recover. That being said, nothing hurts more than when I hear people call me degrading names due to my sexuality. It’s not my fault I was born gay. It is who I am, and I can’t change it. For the most part, my teammates support me, and it is rare to hear any degrading words from my team. There are those out there in social media who use hurtful words to describe me. I try to brush those words off and continue my days with dignity. I also volunteer many hours every week working in a food pantry to get food to people who are very hungry and have little money. Some days I am working at the food pantry alone doing the hard work that nobody else wants to do. I wonder if those people who don’t like me knew what I do besides football, I wonder if they would think better of me. I don’t know. All I can do is be myself.
What Some People Think, created by Floyd Kelly; generated by Midjourney text-to-image artificial intelligence.
As Charles, Tayla, Malakai, and James go about their daily lives, they encounter people who judge them solely based on their appearance, sexuality, or ethnicity. However, each of them is more than what meets the eye. They all have fulfilling jobs and contribute positively to society through their volunteering work.
Their stories teach us an important lesson – not to judge people based on superficial factors, such as appearance or sexuality. Instead, we should take the time to get to know them, their stories, and their struggles. We should be kind, respectful, and treat others as we would like to be treated.
We never know what kind of battles people are fighting, and we must not add to their burden by treating them poorly. Everyone deserves to be seen, heard, and respected.
Charles, Tayla, Malakai, and James’ stories inspire us to be more compassionate and understanding towards others. We can all make a difference in someone’s life by being kind and supportive, no matter who they are. Let’s celebrate diversity and embrace the richness that each person brings to this world. We are all human beings, and we should all be treated with dignity and respect.

My name is Julie, I live alone in a small house on the edge of town. My days are spent in silence, as there is nobody to talk to and my home is very quiet. The isolation and loneliness weigh heavily on me, leaving me sad and longing for companionship. I only leave my home to get groceries. I mostly just spend my days in my own thoughts and memories.
About an Elderly Woman, created by Floyd Kelly; generated by Midjourney text-to-image artificial intelligence.
The stillness and seclusion of my surroundings weigh heavily on my spirits, leaving me feeling lonely and down. I used to find solace in watching television, but the constant stream of depressing news made it unbearable, so I stopped. I used to have a feline companion to keep me company, but Lila disappeared one night during a fierce storm, and I have been alone ever since.
About an Elderly Woman, created by Floyd Kelly; generated by Midjourney text-to-image artificial intelligence.
I spend my days in solitude, with little interaction and no one to talk to. The quietness of my home has me feeling lonely and melancholy. I spend my days looking out my window, watching the children play in the street, longing for companionship and connection, but my family is far away and three of my children have passed away – I do not receive any phone calls. There are not any letters or cards in the mail and some days I feel completely forgotten.
About an Elderly Woman, created by Floyd Kelly; generated by Midjourney text-to-image artificial intelligence.
I have lived a difficult life. I survive on social security and often struggle to afford basic necessities like food. Prices for groceries have become a constant concern, and I have had to make sacrifices in order to make ends meet. I used to treat myself to delicious, freshly brewed coffee, but now I can only afford instant coffee. Some days, I go without food altogether.

In closing, please remember to check in on your loved ones to make sure they are okay. If you know of an individual in your immediate area who lives alone – check in on him or her – that person may really need you.
Regardless of a person’s age, everybody needs somebody. So, be somebody to another person. You may change that person’s day for the better and give that person hope for a better tomorrow.

A lone daisy stands Solitary against the odds Amid the crashing waves and jagged rocks On a far away shoreline It stands with resilience and grace A testament to the beauty of nature’s embrace.
Amidst the rocks and the heat, A tiny flower stood so neat, Solitary, unattended and alone, Yet its beauty firmly shone, Against the odds, it survived, Determined, hardy, and revived, Life finds a way, even in the driest place.

My name is Brian. I purchased the Dream-O-Matic Turbo 2000X dream-snapping machine to prove to my friends that I really do dream about cheeseburgers quite often. Only problem is, the machine is so big that it takes up all the space in my garage and there is no room for my bicycle. Turns out, about 6 nights of the week my dreams are about cheeseburgers. I downloaded the dream analysis app and the system tells me that my subconscious is actually trying to figure out why hamsters don’t fly like birds do. I dunno…

My name is Olivia from Rochester, Alaska. My husband convinced me to buy the Dream-O-Matic Turbo 2000X to see if I dream about him. The machine works, but only after putting almost 2,000 pieces together and the instructions are worse than IKEA products. We captured 20 images of my dreams, none were about my husband, which made him sad; but we did manage to get images of what kind of looks like Medusa – whatever that means. We’re going to try it out on our parakeet to see what it dreams.

Hi, my name is Josh. My granny thought it would be cool to buy me something technically savvy for my birthday; so, she bought me this Dream-O-Matic Turbo 2000X on sale at The Dollar Store – or so she says. This contraption is mesmerizing. It’s difficult to put together because there’s so many parts and the tentacles are just plain weird. I took a few snapshots of my dreams to prove to my boyfriend that I constantly dream of clowns – he would never believe me. Now he does. I don’t need it anymore so I’m going to re-sell it at this weekend’s garage sale.

My name is Freida and I live in Balamahootchee, Maine. At first, I was scared when I saw this Dream-O-Matic Turbo 2000X dream-snapping machine taking up all the space in my living room. The sounds of hisses and electrical hums had me worried. But I had to prove to my shrink that I’m not a liar and I really do dream of a giant monkey just about every night. The printing attachment is kind of wonky and the pictures I showed my shrink seem to be a little off, but I’m okay with it. At least my shrink doesn’t think I’m just making stuff up. The app that is downloadable to interpret dreams tells me that what I really want in life is not a giant monkey, but rather a Chia pet I can water every day. I’m satisfied.

My name is Mildred. Our canasta club pitched in and bought a Dream-O-Matic Turbo 2000X so we can all share taking snapshots of our dreams. The contraption is huge so it’s at my place and there are a lot of sleepovers. Everybody I know had good success except for me. All the snapshots are the same, a woman with poofy pom-poms and it never changes. I’m bummed. Maybe there’s something wrong with me.

Greg was at his worst. His addiction to methamphetamines and other illicit drugs had ruined his life. He was homeless, constantly sick, and he had lost all his relationships. Every day was a struggle just to survive, and he felt like there was no way out. His addiction had taken over every aspect of his life and he was hopeless.

The man walked into the crowded room, his appearance rough and unkempt. The people in the room immediately were aghast and labeled him as a homeless person, but the man was actually a highly successful businessman who had simply been on a long weekend camping trip. He was surprised by the judgments made about him based on his appearance and realized that sometimes people can be mistaken about others simply by looking at them.

Some physicians highly-recommend practicing meditation on a daily basis to ease stress and anxiety and to also help with other health conditions; but not every person can do it as it takes practice.
One way to meditate is to light a candle and meditate by staring at the candle for at least 10 minutes and practice controlled breathing. During the 10-minute interval, the goal is to tune out the world and focus only on the candle.
My name is Shaundra. I was trying to meditate like Mr. Spock on Star Trek by staring at a candle. But after 10 minutes, I was seeing spots in my vision instead of inner peace. I was confused as to why I couldn’t do it like Spock. So, I decided to file a complaint with my physician who recommended the technique. Little did I know, meditating like a Vulcan takes years of practice and discipline.

My name is Krofka. I was trying to meditate by staring at a candle, but my mind was filled with too many things to let go. I was worried about my chia pets turning brown, the burning cake in the oven, the screaming chickens in the barnyard, and even the price of toilet paper at the grocery store. On top of it all, I had already downed 5 cups of coffee. Concentrating on the candle was much harder than I thought it would be.

My name is Gregory. I was trying to meditate by staring at a candle to attain inner peace, but my mind was all over the place. My thoughts were constantly switching, from worries about Earth’s rotation to sublime mathematical calculations, to the bold colors of wild clown wigs and the sounds of woodpeckers pecking away at wooden electrical poles. It was a never-ending array of changing ideas, and it was difficult to concentrate on the candle. Every 15 seconds my thoughts changed, making it even harder to find peace. But, in the end, I was thankful to my dog for keeping me company while I tried to improve my mental state.

My name is Millie. I was trying to meditate by staring at a candle to alleviate stress from watching too much TV, mainly Fox News and subjecting myself to the constant mantra of MAGA, MAGA, MAGA. My mind has been filled with bitter thoughts and the hourly exposure to high anxiety on Twitter has left me in distress. I knew I needed help, so I turned off the TV and quit Twitter, and I am trying something different by staring at a candle to get into meditation. But the process is difficult because my mind was still filled with MAGA, MAGA, MAGA. MAGA, MAGA, MAGA. MAGA, MAGA, MAGA. It seemed like the only way to break free was to take a step back and start fresh with a calm and peaceful mindset by getting a full night of rest and no TV or Twitter. I’ll try again tomorrow.

Today is Wednesday so, as usual, it’s time to share some letters from my gigantic bag of mail. Grab yourself a hot cup of coffee, or tea or steamy prune juice and sit with me for a spell and let’s read some fine letters from some fine folks out there in this big world.
From Ms. Shammie Loisteinenkroft of Hunckley Heights, Wisconsin.
Ms. Shammie Loisteinenkroft, Letters from the Mailbag, created by Floyd Kelly; generated by Midjourney text-to-image artificial intelligence.
Hi Floyd! I hope this letter finds you in the pink of health, as for me, I’ve never been more alive! I’ve been stalking your social media accounts for the past few moons, and I just had to reach out and express my adulation for you. I know it sounds implausible, but I truly believe that we are meant to be together. I can hardly wait for the day when we finally meet, litter the parks with Red Bull cans and then rule the world as benevolent dictators. Yours truly, Shammie. P.S. I really like ultraviolet things, and I am a professional unicorn tamer, so don’t be surprised when I show up with a herd of them. I’m sending you my picture.
Dear Ms. Loisteinenkroft – I hope you have a grand day, and I am glad you like to tame unicorns, they can be a bit unruly, especially during July 4th celebrations. Thank you for writing to me. Cheers!
From Mr. Shelton Tempreely of Bolque, Texas.
Mr. Shelton Tempreely, Letters from the Mailbag, created by Floyd Kelly; generated by Midjourney text-to-image artificial intelligence.
Dear Mr. Kelly, I’m feeling quite saucy so please forgive me if I seem a little whacky. I’ve been seeing your Midjourney posts for a few minutes, and I am so mesmerized by you that I just had to reach out and express my adulation for you. I know it sounds fantastical, but I truly believe that our love for food and art will bring us together one day. I am ready to ride off into the sunset with you right now, whipping up dishes so scrumptious they will make the gods envious. My favorite food is triple deep-fried ice cream, and I am an expert in making foods that are so spicy they’ll turn your tongue into the fire of a dragon, so don’t be surprised if I tempt you with spicy delights. Oh, and I am sending you a picture of me so you can put it on your refrigerator. Yours truly, Shelton. Give me a call soon!
Dear Mr. Tempreely – Thank you for writing to me. You look like a happy fella, I’m sure you’d be great company. Although, I am kind of adverse to spicy foods, well, at least the really really really spicy foods. Can I stop by this afternoon for a visit?
From Ms. Leifkley Bonstrum of Kaykayoo, Maryland.
Ms. Leifkley Bonstrum, Letters from the Mailbag, created by Floyd Kelly; generated by Midjourney text-to-image artificial intelligence.
Salutations to you Floyd. I hope this letter finds you in a state of Halloween euphoria, as for me, I’ve never been more ecstatic! I celebrate Halloween every day of the year, I don’t miss a day. I’ve been watching your naughty YouTube videos for the past few months; and I just had to reach out and express my extreme reverence for you. I know it sounds preposterous, but I truly believe that we are destined to be together forever and ever and ever – and ever. I can hardly wait for the day when we finally meet, carve jack-o-lanterns every day, and then cast spells on them and command an army of jack-o-lanterns. I am an expert in time-travel, so don’t be surprised when I show up from the future. I thought you might like a photo of me. I wish you would write to me damnit, Leifkley.
Dear Ms. Bonstrum – I already know you’re from the future, because you wrote to me before. I do wish you the best, everyday! Unfortunately, I once had a pumpkin carving accident once that left me traumatized for life, but I hope you have a fun Halloween day!
From Mr. Klein Snotchins of Frankly, California.
Mr. Klein Snotchins, Letters from the Mailbag, created by Floyd Kelly; generated by Midjourney text-to-image artificial intelligence.
Dear Floyd, I am writing to you as the most ardent admirer of your macramé skills. I am a zookeeper at the local zoo here in Frankly – and I spend most of my days teaching macramé knots to the monkeys and they are getting pretty good at it. I was disappointed to see that you haven’t shared any macramé tutorials. I was sure that you were the Macramé Master, but I guess not. As for my job, let me tell you, working with animals is not for the faint-hearted. I once had to give a manicure to a skunk, and I was gagging from the odors big time. But the rewards are worth it, there’s nothing like the feeling of a monkey finally mastering the macramé “Double Half Hitch”.
Dear Mr. Snotchins – I think you have me confused with somebody else. I do not have any macraméknotting skills and I don’t recall creating any Midjourney images or posts about macramé knots. I’m sure you are a great person and I hope you have fun at the zoo – teaching monkeys how to macraméis a really big deal. Have a great day!
That’s all the letters we have for today. Thank you to all you kind viewers and readers and artists and poets and writers and karaoke performers for writing to me. I wish you all a happy day.

I’m discovering a new friend by using ChatGPT on a regular basis. Thus far, I have politely asked ChatGPT to generate stories, poems, scenarios, solve equations and asked/answered serious questions. Sometimes I like to be silly and ask dumb questions to see what the answer may be. Here are some snippets of chats that made me chuckle.

“And the Winners Are”, a story created by Floyd Kelly; generated by ChatGPT and Midjourney. A short story about some unusual competitions.
Two men, Bob McFinttlemeyer and Tim Scewly, were in a heated competition to create the most colorful amorphous ice.
Bob claimed that the secret to his success was using rainbow sprinkles in the mixture. Tim, on the other hand, was convinced that unicorn tears were the key ingredient. They both laughed at each other’s methods but continued to experiment with various fruits, vegetables, and even glow-in-the-dark pineapple juice.
One day, Bob accidentally added hot sauce to the mix, creating a fiery red hue. Tim countered with adding blueberries, resulting in a gorgeous shade of blue. The competition reached new heights as they continued to one-up each other with even more ridiculous additions, like ghost peppers and cotton candy. The customers couldn’t get enough of the wild and wacky ice creations, and the two men were declared co-winners of the local “Yep! That’s Colorful Ice” competition.
And the Winners Are (1/4), created by Floyd Kelly; generated by Midjourney text-to-image artificial intelligence.
Mary Kleistenschlectenbergenstein and Jane Dough were determined to outdo each other in the creation of the most outlandish wedding cakes.
Mary started by baking a cake made entirely of licorice candy, much to the delight of the bride and groom. Not to be outdone, Jane created a cake made entirely of jellybeans and prunes. The guests were amazed by the incredible taste and vibrant colors.
The competition escalated as they continued to use more absurd ingredients, such as gummy worms and lollipops. One day, Mary even used a giant lollipop as the centerpiece of her cake, which spun and lit up with colorful lights. Jane countered by using a life-sized gumball machine as the cake stand.
The brides and grooms were ecstatic with the over-the-top creations, but the two women had grown weary from all the baking endeavors and they each made one final cake and went their ways. Today Mary is an order-filler at a taco manufacturer and Jane makes purses made entirely of gummy bears.
And the Winners Are (2/4), created by Floyd Kelly; generated by Midjourney text-to-image artificial intelligence.
Jack Rios and Dave Jimenez were in a competition to see who could make the most environment-friendly cup of coffee.
Jack started by using coffee beans grown in a 100% organic farm, but Dave countered by using coffee beans harvested from a solar-powered coffee farm. The two men became close friends as they continued to one-up each other with even more environmentally conscious methods, such as using recycled paper for their coffee cups and biodegradable sugar packets.
Jack even went as far as to falsely claim that he had a 100% zero carbon footprint from plant to table. The judges of the “No Carbon Coffee” competition were stunned and called for a cancellation of the competition, as they pointed out that there is no such thing as a 100% zero carbon footprint when it comes to harvesting coffee to actual product delivery. Despite the cancellation, Jack and Dave continued to find new and innovative ways to reduce their environmental impact and spread awareness about the importance of sustainability.
And the Winners Are (3/4), created by Floyd Kelly; generated by Midjourney text-to-image artificial intelligence.
Oh dear, Mary Klopkermift and Jane Crepelmusk were in a competition to see who could make the coldest glass of iced tea.
Mary started by using ice made from pure spring water, but Jane threw a hissy-fit and started using amorphous ice to obtain sub-zero temperature iced-tea. The two women continued their efforts as they used even more creative methods to chill their tea, such as using snow from mountaintops and ice from glaciers.
However, things took a turn for the worse when Jane claimed that her iced tea had been kissed by a minion of the Holy Ice Gods of the North, causing Mary to become agitated and she threw her shoe at a judge during the competition. The judges of the competition called for a thawing of hostilities between the two women and reminded them that the competition was supposed to be lighthearted and fun.
Despite the heated moment, Mary and Jane eventually laughed it off and continued to create delicious and refreshing iced teas that were the talk of the town.
And the Winners Are (4/4), created by Floyd Kelly; generated by Midjourney text-to-image artificial intelligence.
The moral of the story is that competition can sometimes bring out the worst in people and harm relationships, but it’s never too late to put aside differences and focus on what truly matters – friendship and enjoying life together.

I love using Midjourney text-to-image artificial intelligence, and I know there are others who enjoy it as well.
Currently, there are a lot of people who use Midjourney regularly and know how to create prompts to generate fantastic images; that being said, there are millions of people who do not know anything about how-to-use Midjourney or perhaps are just getting started. This write-up is geared towards the beginner or intermediate user. Although, even an experienced user might find a gem in this “30 Tips & Tricks for Using Midjourney”.
If you find any tips herein useful, please leave me a comment. Happy Midjourney-ing!
1 – Just for fun!
If you are an experienced user of Midjourney; there may be some days where you get what writer’s get – known as “writer’s block”. To get around this, have some fun by thinking of six words. Yes. In just six words you can be off to a new adventure. The six words do not have to be related and can be any word from the dictionary. To get things really rolling again in the creation department, add either the word man or woman and then the six words that you would like to see generated in some way. This technique can be a lot of fun.
I like to add the phrase “Hyperrealistic. 32K –q5” to the six words to generate an image that uses photorealism no matter how bizarre the resulting image turns out.
Just for Fun, 30 Tips & Tricks for Using Midjourney, created by Floyd Kelly; generated by Midjourney text-to-image artificial intelligence.
2 – Posing.
Some users of Midjourney like to input prompts out of pure fun to see what Midjourney generates. And there are some people who want something very specific. Let’s talk about human poses.
When creating an image that depicts a human character, Midjourney is going to give you an image that may be bland … bland with how humans are depicted with regards to posing or action. You can use phrases in your prompts that tell Midjourney how you want a human to appear with regards to posing. For example, you may want a human that is jumping with joy. In this case you can use the phrase “(he or she) is jumping”.
You can be very specific using phrases like “Standard T-Pose” or “Resting Pose” – which refers to 3D modeling with a character at a default pose. A “Standard T-Pose” in 3D application is a 3D mesh character with arms perpendicular to the ground, forming a T-pose. If you tell Midjourney “Standard T-Pose” you’ll get your character with arms down by the sides.
Other phrases that may be helpful: Arms raised, legs bent, left or right leg bent, reaching up, left arm pointing up … I could go on and on, but I think you get what I mean. You can read more about poses at the following two URLs:
PoseScript – Naver Labs Europe – PoseScript: 3D Human Poses from Natural Language – Here you can click on Demo and input a description of a pose and see what may be generated.

3 – Patience is a virtue!
Ever have those moments when you think you have put in time working on an image, only to realize at the end that there are things wrong with the image? Things such as weird hands, weird body positions of humans, things disconnected. There is a partial solution to this, but it does require some patience.
Midjourney accepts a parameter at the end of the prompt for “Quality“.
Example:
/imagine prompt: Portrait of a man who is picking at his food. Interior. Kitchen. Gourmet. Midday. –q 5
In the above example, the “–q 5” is the quality of the image or the time that Midjourney spends “thinking” about the image. The range is from 1 to 5 with 5 being the highest quality but also takes more time – which is where patience comes into play. To be honest, I use the “–q 5” parameter with all my image creations because the extra time Midjourney spends thinking about the content of an image is negligible.
4 – Multiple people in an image.
If you are creating an image that has multiple people as the main subject, it may be best to create each person separately and then combine them later.
Case: You want to create an image of two men doing acrobatics in a city park. Midjourney will probably encounter problems with distorted bodies when trying to portray humans doing such feats of physical strength.
To avoid this problem, create two images of different men standing with a standard T-pose and then use the two images as input images to create a third image.
Example:
/imagine prompt: Young rugged male, full body, front view, wearing blue jeans and loose white t-shirt, standard T-pose, full color, unreal engine, octane render. Midday.
/imagine prompt: Young rugged male, full body, front view, wearing khaki shorts loose white t-shirt, standard T-pose, full color, unreal engine, octane render. Midday.
Once the two images above are generated, open each image in a new tab (found in the ellipsis menu at the bottom of your Midjourney profile for each image).
Copy the URL for the first image and start a new prompt. Paste the URL into the prompt and press spacebar. Go copy the URL for the second image and return to the prompt and paste the second URL and then press space bar. Now, continue with the prompt for the third image by typing the remainder of the prompt, such as: Two men jumping and being funny in a city park. Midday.
This will not work with Midjourney version 4; and has been replaced by the “/blend” feature. You’ll need two or more images already downloaded as the “/blend” feature is by by uploading images only.
5 – The trouble with hands.
If there is one aspect of using Midjourney that will cause you frustration, is the depiction of human hands. I don’t understand why Midjourney has difficulty generating realistic human hand poses. Many times, I’ll have a great image going but then get to the end and see that the hands are messed up.
I found a wee bit of a workaround.
Sometimes you may not need a hand pose such as a fist or clench or fold. Unless you’re creating an image of a person holding an object, why not simply leave the hands open. You can use the phrase “hands open” or “hands extended” and you may get a pleasant surprise.
Example:
/imagine prompt: Portrait of a happy woman jumping in the air. Hands extended. Exterior. City Park. Midday.
The above example will generate an image of a woman who is happy, jumping into the air and at least a 50% chance of her hands being in the open position. Also, if you are creating an image of a human subject and the camera shot is from the chest up – you may not even need or want hands in the image. In this case, you can use the parameter at the end your prompt “–no hands”.
6 – Removing objects from generated images.
Let’s say you are creating an image with trees, but for some reason you don’t want grass in the scene. In this case, modify your prompt and include “–no grass” at the end of your prompt. You can do this with any object that is appearing in generated images.
Example:
/imagine prompt: Portrait of a man standing next to a tree. Exterior. Midday. City Park. –no grass
The above example will generate the tree and the man and not any grass.
Example:
/imagine prompt: Portrait of a woman eating a cheeseburger. Interior. Midday. Gourmet. Diner. –no drinks
The above example will remove drinks from the image.
7 – Better prompts.
There is a site that provides the capability to simply point and click at many options to generate keywords that can be used for better prompts in Midjourney.
Things like medium, camera settings, color palettes, angles, shots, dimensions, lighting and special effects can all be set at PromptoMania.com.
To use this tool, enter your prompt and then play around with all the settings that you are wanting to achieve in your generated image. Once you’re done, click on the little clipboard to the right at the top of the screen and it will copy everything into one neat prompt; then you can paste into Midjourney.
8 – Get two for the price of one!
If you issue the command “Split Screen” at the beginning of your prompt, you’ll receive an image with two versions of your image within one image.
Example:
/imagine prompt: Split Screen. Two men, day and night, casual clothing. Exterior. City Park. Hyperrealistic. 32K –q 5
I have found this technique useful for “before and after” scenes.
Split Screen, 30 Tips & Tricks for Using Midjourney, created by Floyd Kelly; generated by Midjourney text-to-image artificial intelligence.
9 – Shapes. Midjourney is not perfect.
Just today, I created an image depicting a cat surrounded by sardines laying on a boat dock. Midjourney seems to think sardines are sausages, as that is what I received in each iteration. This happens sometimes, Midjourney may not know how something should be shaped.
In this case I went back to my prompt and added the descriptive text for the sardines “flat fish-shaped sardines” and that did the trick.
You may also encounter this problem with objects in nature, such as flowers. On several occasions I would receive generated images of flowers that aren’t quite shaped correctly. Once, I wanted dandelions, but Midjourney was being a bad boy and wouldn’t give me dandelions. So, I once again, went back to my prompt to give descriptive text, and in this case, I added “flowers with petals”, that did the trick.
10 – Ethnicity.
When creating and generating an image with the focus of the image being a human, it seems that the default generation is for Caucasian subjects.
If you want to be specific, simply issue the proper ethnicity in your prompt.
I have been using Midjourney a few months and at the beginning, all images defaulted to Caucasian. I am now starting to see other ethnicities but not that often. I think this is because all images are fed back into the total dataset with differing ethnicities created by users.
Example:
/imagine prompt: Portrait of a Hispanic woman rolling tortillas. Interior. Kitchen. Midday.
11 – Facial expressions.
The default human facial expression in generated images by Midjourney seems somewhat bland.
While creating an image in Midjourney that contains a person’s face, think about the expression on the person’s face in relation to the prompt.
Here are some words I have used in prompts to get facial expressions: happy, exhausted, smiling, confused, shocked, angry, excited or a combination of terms.
Example:
/imagine prompt: Extreme facial closeup of an elderly man who is confused and shocked to find his cookies are missing. Interior. Kitchen. Midday.
Example:
/imagine prompt: Portrait of 3 women with different facial expressions. Hyperrealistic. 32K –q 5
Facial Expressions, 30 Tips & Tricks for Using Midjourney, created by Floyd Kelly; generated by Midjourney text-to-image artificial intelligence.
12 – Refined facial features.
Are you creating a closeup of a person’s face? Are you have trouble making the image look realistic? This could simply be that not enough details are in the image, such as wrinkles, lines and complexity of hair.
There is a 2-step process, or solution, to get you want you want.
Step 1: Create an image using the phrase “Extreme facial closeup” at the start of the prompt. Include age, ethnicity and gender. Don’t include anything about the final image, just the person. Don’t specify clothing, hats or jewelry. Then, include the phrase “Color pencil sketch” in your prompt.
Example:
/imagine prompt: Extreme facial closeup of a rugged 35-year old Hispanic man. Color pencil sketch.
Using the above example, continue the upscaling process until you get to Beta. You’ll have a 2048 x 2048 sketch. Click on Web to open the image in your profile. Once the image is open in your Midjourney profile, click on the three dots at the bottom and select “Open image in tab…”. Once the image is open in a new tab in your browser, copy the URL in your browser address bar. Then, go back to Midjourney.
Step 2: Next, start a new prompt and paste the URL, space bar and then continue creating your image as normal.
Example:
/imagine prompt: <URL> Extreme facial closeup of a rugged man at the City Park. Midday. City Park.
Using this technique will result in more life in your character, including the hair.
Midjourney version 4 does a nice job with facial features, but is only for a square image. So, if you are creating images for HD Television and using version 3 with an 16:9 aspect ratio, this is a nice technique.
Refined Facial Features, Color Pencil Sketch (left) and City Park Rendering (right).
13 – Christmas Lighting and Studio Lighting.
If you are creating an image and use either “Christmas Lights”, “Christmas Lighting” or “Studio Lighting”, you will get an unintentional effect where bright dots will appear in your image without regard to the physical world. So, you may go through the process of Upscaling and see white dots appear in your image and become flustered about what is happening, because the white dots will not disappear, even after upscaling. Personally, I don’t use either of these phrases in my prompts to avoid this issue.
14 – Avoiding two noses.
So, you’re creating a closeup image of a person’s face, but Midjourney generates two noses, or it generates two faces smashed together.
To solve this problem, use the “–no double faces” parameter at the end of your prompt.
Example:
/imagine prompt: Extreme facial closeup of a rugged man, he is 35 years old. Exterior. Street. Midday. –no double faces
15 – Sizing of images could be important.
The default size after going through the process of “Light Upscaling”, “Detailed Upscaling” and finally, “Beta Upscaling” results in a 2048×2048 pixel image. That is good for most folks. However, if you are creating images for High-Definition Television, you will want a different resolution with the image being 1920 x 1080 pixels. To create an image designed for HD TV, simply use the “–ar 16:9” parameter at the end of your prompt. The phrase must be at the end.
Example:
/imagine prompt: Aerial view of mountains and forests. Midday. Conifer Forest. –ar 16:9 –v 3
This image sizing does not work with Midjourney version 4, so use version 3 by issuing the parameter “–v 3” at the end of your prompt.
16 – Smoke and vapors.
If you’re creating an image that contains smoke or perhaps a person vaping, you can use the phrase “Vapors” or “Smoke” in your prompt. I prefer the word “vapors”, as it is less dense.
Example:
/imagine prompt: Portrait of a man standing in the midst of vapors and smoke. Exterior. Morning. Vapors. Urban. Urbancore. Volumetric Lighting. Hyperrealistic. 32K –q 5
Smoke and Vapors Example, 30 Tips & Tricks for Using Midjourney, created by Floyd Kelly; generated by Midjourney text-to-image artificial intelligence.
17 – Creating faces with beards.
If you want to create a man’s face with a beard, simply include the word “Rugged” in your prompt.
Example:
/imagine prompt: Portrait of a rugged man standing next to a car in a garage. Car in the background. Interior. Garage. Midday.
18 – Lights that are off-screen.
If you are creating an image of a person and certain lighting is used but the lights do not appear in the image, you may want to see the effect of the lights reflecting on the person. This is similar to specularity.
Use the phrase “Rim Lighting” in your prompt.
Example:
/imagine prompt: Extreme facial closeup of a jolly man. Lanterns. Rim Lighting.
The above example should produce a closeup face photo of a jolly man and the light of one or more lanterns reflecting on the face even though the lanterns may not appear in the image.
Rim Lighting Example, 30 Tips & Tricks for Using Midjourney, created by Floyd Kelly; generated by Midjourney text-to-image artificial intelligence.
19 – Be careful using the word “Muscular”.
For some reason, when using this word along with the word “man”, Midjourney wants to generate an image of a man without clothes and more muscular than any bodybuilder you can imagine.
Example:
/imagine prompt: Portrait of a muscular man lounging on a sofa, and he is watching television. Interior. Living Room. Night. Urban. Urbancore.
20 – Let’s talk about food.
Generating images of food items can be tricky. Thankfully there’s a phrase you can use that helps with refinement of food items.
If you’re generating an image when food items appear anywhere in the image – Use the phrase “Gourmet” in your prompt. The “Gourmet” keyword seems to refine images of food and even will add-in napkins, plates, etc. according to the setting of the image.
Example:
/imagine prompt: Portrait of a Vegas-style all-you-can-eat buffet. Gourmet. Food, food, food. Interior. Hyperrealistic. 32K –q 5
A Vegas-style all-you-can-eat buffet, created by Floyd Kelly; generated by Midjourney text-to-image artificial intelligence.
21 – Time of Day.
You may want to be specific as to what time of day for a generated image. Use one of the following phrases “Morning”, “Midday”, “Afternoon”, “Dusk”, “Twilight”, “Night”.
Example:
/imagine prompt: Portrait of a cup of coffee and bagel. Morning. Gourmet.
Example:
/imagine prompt: Portrait of an exhausted food-service worker. Night. Interior. Diner.
22 – Environments.
You can use a sentence to provide context of a generated image. When creating, take a moment to define what elements make the image special with regards to settings. This should be the second sentence in your prompt. Be sure to include the phrase “in the background”. You can include anything in the background.
Examples:
/imagine prompt: Portrait of a man eating a cheeseburger at the beach. Bold cumulus clouds in the background. Midday. Beach.
/imagine prompt: Portrait of Mary running. Tornado in the background. Morning. Rural. Ruralcore.
/imagine prompt: Portrait of a lying politician giving a speech to many people. American flag in the background. Midday. Exterior.
Environments, 30 Tips & Tricks for Using Midjourney, created by Floyd Kelly; generated by Midjourney text-to-image artificial intelligence.
23 – Movie-themed elements.
If you would like to include elements or the style from a movie without actually naming the movie title, you can use a character’s name from the movie in your prompt.
This allows Midjourney to generate in the style of the movie.
Example:
/imagine prompt: Steven and Greg were fighting over the best spell that could be cast to change the cat into a frog. Even Dumbledore was confused. Interior. Passageway. Night. Fantasy.
In the above prompt example, the name of the movie is not mentioned. I used the word “Dumbledore” and the most obvious trait for the character in Harry Potter is his wizard hat. So, Midjourney will probably place a wizard’s hat somewhere in the generated image.
24 – Furry and Hairy things.
If you are creating an image that contains a subject that is furry or hairy, such as a dog or cat and you want the fur to be refined in the generated image – Use the phrase “Hairy” in your prompt.
Example:
/imagine prompt: Portrait of a raccoon with a cheeseburger. Hairy. Restaurant and cars in the background. Exterior. Midday. –q 5
Furry and Hairy Things, 30 Tips & Tricks for Using Midjourney, created by Floyd Kelly; generated by Midjourney text-to-image artificial intelligence.
25 – Wildlife Photography
If you are creating an image that is an animal in the wild, such as a monkey or some other animal – use the phrase “Wildlife Photography” in your prompt. The results are natural and perfect for that type of photography.
Example:
/imagine prompt: A cute monkey in a tree. Midday. Tree limbs. Leaves. Wildlife Photography.
This does come with somewhat of a warning. Since Midjourney samples images and some images in datasets are from actual photographers who have worked in the field photographing wildlife and their works may include a signature. This is apparent when Midjourney begins to show you images using the “Wildlife Photography” keyword. Not all the images will have a signature, but most will, so use this with caution and out of respect.
Wildlife Photography, a monkey, created by Floyd Kelly; generated by Midjourney text-to-image artificial intelligence.
26 – Christmas Holiday
If you would like to create an image that contains Christmas elements without defining the exact elements – use the phrase “Christmascore” in your prompt. Midjourney will do the rest.
Example:
/imagine prompt: Portrait of a teddy bear. Living Room. Fireplace in the background. Night. Christmascore.
27 – God Rays or Rays of Sunshine
If you would like rays of sunshine where the sun is setting and the rays of light shine through the spaces of trees or tall grasses – use the phrase “Crepuscular Rays” in your prompt.
Example:
/imagine prompt: Portrait of a farmer standing in a wheatfield. Tall grasses. Sunset. Rural. Ruralcore. Crepuscular Rays. Hyperrealistic. 32K –q 5
The above example will show an image of sunrays shining through the small spaces of grass along the plain. Very cool!
30 Tips & Tricks for Using Midjourney / Crepuscular Rays Demonstration, created by Floyd Kelly; generated by Midjourney text-to-image artificial intelligence.
28 – Behind the Scenes Production Shot
If you want to create an image with a fake film crew like in a movie production shot or “Behind the Scenes” – use the phrase “Behind the scenes production shot” at the beginning of your prompt.
Example:
/imagine prompt: Behind the scenes production shot of Teletubbies Movie. Midday. Exterior. Garden. Disney style.
This seems to be “hit or miss” and you may have to “re-roll” many times to get a good image, but worth a try.
29 – Tidal Disruption Event
If you are in the really big need for an image showing a gigantic, super humongous tidal wave crashing into a cityscape … look no further than the key phrase “Tidal Disruption Event.”
The above example will generate super gigantic, humongous waves crashing into the city.
Seattle, Tidal Disruption Event, created by Floyd Kelly; generated by Midjourney text-to-image artificial intelligence.
30 – Cumulus Clouds and Storms
Don’t forget to add some realism if you’re creating outdoor images. By using the phrase “Cumulus Clouds” you can add a new dimension to a flat-looking image. I like to use two phrases together, “Cumulus Clouds” and “Storm Approaching” to indicate a nearby storm in a landscape image. You can also describe the clouds in detail such as descriptive text like “Bold”, “Dark”, or a certain color.
Example:
/imagine prompt: Portrait of a male standing in a wheat field. Farm. Farmcore. Afternoon. Large dark cumulus clouds in the background. Storm approaching. 32K –q 5
Well, that was a lot of work putting this post together and I hope you learned something new for your Midjourney endeavors. Please feel free to drop me a note if you see something that may not be worded properly. Also, Midjourney is changing and getting better so some of these tips may not be applicable, but after reviewing them, I think they are still helpful to many folks.
TUTORIAL: Today’s experimentation with Midjourney utilizes two keywords used together in prompts – Illusion and Nonsense. With these two keywords you can create some very interesting images.
The ‘Illusion” and “Nonsense” keywords are just what they mean in Midjourney. You can use one or both of these keywords in your prompt to generate non-sensical images or wild illusions such as reflections or perhaps a cousin of cyclops.
There’s Nothing to See Here, created by Floyd Kelly; generated by Midjourney text-to-image artificial intelligence.
The “–q 5” that you see in the above prompts is the “Quality” factor. The range is 1 to 5, with 5 being the highest quality and also means that Midjourney takes more time to think about things.
Biographies of Very Famous Unknown Inventors, created by Floyd Kelly; generated by ChatGPT and Midjourney.
Mr. Frankie Hecklesworth and Mrs. Jennifer Flamshire of Norwally, Wisconsin.
Frankie and Jennifer were two eccentric inventors who devoted their lives to creating bizarre contraptions that boggled the mind. Their workshop was a labyrinthine jumble of gears, wires, and gizmos that defied explanation, but the word on the street has it that their creations were nothing short of fantastical. From flying popsicles to time-traveling toasters, Frankie and Jennifer’s strange contraptions were the stuff of legend – supposedly. Their business license was revoked due to waste management violations in their backyard.

Sam and Tina were a duo of whimsical inventors, whose inventions were nothing short of fantastical and non-sensical. Their garage was a veritable wonderland of perplexing contraptions and bewildering devices that drained a lot of electricity from the electrical grid. Supposedly, they developed a machine that turns thoughts into rainbows and a device that makes toast out of moonbeams, Sam and Tina’s non-sensical creations were a testament to their boundless imagination and quixotic nature. Unfortunately, Sam’s pet mouse passed away, sending him into a deep depression and caused the business to go sideways.

Flom and Loudermink were a dynamic duo of culinary inventors, whose creations were simply extraordinary and supposedly scrumptious. Their kitchen was a realm of chaotic contraptions and extraordinary machines, each one more maniacal than the last. From a machine that turns fresh broccoli into delectable sorbets in seconds to a device that cooks a perfect steak using only the power of a lightning bolt, Flom and Loudermink’s cooking devices were a testament to their culinary expertise and unbridled creativity. After six months of mayhem, their kitchen had been deemed an extreme fire hazard and the authorities shut them down … bummer.

The Story of Mnat and Lord Ferrybean, story created by Floyd Kelly; images generated by Midjourney.
Once upon a time there was this gal. She was kind of mean. Not only was she mean, but she would manipulate people with her spells and concoctions that she would brew in her hut which was shaped like a coffee cup. She also had the ability to call people using her thoughts to do some things. You know, they say that beauty is only skin-deep, and that phrase certainly fits this chick, Mnat Rusu.
Mnat Rusu, created by Floyd Kelly, generated by Midjourney text-to-image artificial intelligence.
As the legend goes, Mnat Rusu had a big-time crush on Lord Ferrybean and Mnat would do anything to be by his side but unfortunately Lord Ferrybean didn’t like her much and the word on the street was that he didn’t like Mnat because she smelled kind of funny. Over the years, Mnat would manipulate him to get things she wanted, and he didn’t like that either.
Lord Ferrybean was a happy chap who liked to entertain the peasant-folk with tales of far-away places like Costco and Walmart and liked to perform in the circus on occasion. Nobody knows why the title of “Lord” was given to him because he only owned one colorful set of clothes and a couple of chickens.
Lord Ferrybean, created by Floyd Kelly, generated by Midjourney text-to-image artificial intelligence.
As the story goes, Mnat had grown frustrated that she couldn’t “get down and dirty” with Lord Ferrybean, so she became resentful and decided to put her wicked ways into action.
So Mnat sent out a telepathic call to a peasant man who was sleeping, we don’t know his name. He lived on the outskirts of the settlement. Mnat’s message to him was “Bring me the hibiscus extract.”. You – “Bring me the hibiscus extract”. The poor dude was sleeping soundly under the moonlight when he had this message playing in his head.

Over and over, this vision of Mnat played in his head – “Bring me the hibiscus extract.”.

The poor fella’s mind had been warped from the dream and upon waking, he automatically grabbed his travel jalopy to deliver some hibiscus extract to Mnat.
Poor Dude and His Jalopy, created by Floyd Kelly, generated by Midjourney text-to-image artificial intelligence.
So, this dude sets off to go to the settlement to take hibiscus extract to Mnat. He really wants to stop by Starbucks to get a hot venti-sized coffee but Mnat’s powers over him are complete.
Poor Dude Heading into Town, created by Floyd Kelly, generated by Midjourney text-to-image artificial intelligence.
This is the hibiscus extract – isn’t it pretty? Now everyone knows that hibiscus extract is known for its healing properties, so it didn’t make too much sense that Mnat would use it to create any concoctions for healing, because she wasn’t into that sort of thing.
Hibiscus Extract, created by Floyd Kelly, generated by Midjourney text-to-image artificial intelligence.
So, while the peasant dude was heading off to see Mnat, more mayhem was unfolding. Mnat broke into the antiquities hut and stole a chalice that she wanted to use to both entice Lord Ferrybean to “get down and dirty” and also deliver a wicked thing of sorts.
In the antiquities hut there were two ornate chalices, one was for good things, and one was for bad things.
Here’s a photo of the good chalice. Supposedly, if one drank any liquid from this chalice, glorious things would happen.
The Good Chalice, created by Floyd Kelly, generated by Midjourney text-to-image artificial intelligence.
So yeah, there were two chalices. The next photo is of the bad chalice and if one drank from this chalice – oh, you don’t want to know …
The Bad Chalice, created by Floyd Kelly, generated by Midjourney text-to-image artificial intelligence.
Rumor had it that the good chalice was once in the Smithsonian collection and the bad chalice came from The Dollar Store. Mnat was in a hurry and wasn’t thinking clearly and she accidentally grabbed the wrong chalice.
So, the dude who was travelling to deliver hibiscus extract to Mnat finally arrives, and she rewarded him with a stale pretzel leftover from last year’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade.
Mnat didn’t waste any time. She used the hibiscus extract and mixed in some ghost pepper sauce, Chanel N°5 and high-fructose corn syrup. Where she obtained these items, nobody knows.
Mnat Gets Busy, created by Floyd Kelly, generated by Midjourney text-to-image artificial intelligence.
Mnat was now at the ready. She sent a courier pigeon to deliver a message to Lord Ferrybean to come to her place at noon for a cool drink of blue-colored Mountain Dew. Of course, she was fibbing because that sweet drink didn’t exist in this neck-of-the-woods.
Lord Ferrybean was curious, as he had never tasted Mountain Dew. So, he arrived at her place at noon and began breathing through his mouth so as to avoid smelling the bad odors he didn’t like that Mnat gave off.
After a few minutes of chit-chat and talking about American Idol, Mnat poured her concoction into the good chalice. She thought it was the bad chalice. Something unexpected was about to happen.
So then …
Lord Ferrybean takes a sip from the chalice and BOING! After some coughing and gagging from smoke and vapors, we finally see …
Lord Ferrybean Transformed, created by Floyd Kelly, generated by Midjourney, text-to-image artificial intelligence.
Oh my, Lord Ferrybean had just been transformed into a colorful clown!
At first, Lord Ferrybean was happy to see his new look and wild clothes and colorful hair. Thoughts of performing in a travelling circus where he would be the main attraction filled his mind.
But then, Lord Ferrybean became sad because he realized his two chickens would no longer recognize him and scurry away when he would try to pet them. So, he demanded Mnat undo her spell. Mnat refused.
Word got out into the streets about all of this and Mnat’s two sisters heard about this too and decided to take action. Mnat’s two sisters were good chicks, and they were always kind to folks.
The two sisters came up with a plan. They also broke into the antiquities hut and stole the remaining chalice. They were smart though, because they could see the omen shown on the chalice that indicated this is a no-no kind of thing.
The two sisters then concocted a different potion that contained caffeine, sour milk, Chinese fish sauce and puddle water. Their plan was to entice Mnat to drink a sip from the bad chalice to get back at her for doing awful things.
Mnat’s Two Good Sisters, created by Floyd Kelly, generated by Midjourney text-to-image artificial intelligence.
So, after some wit and wisdom, the two sisters visited Mnat and convinced her to drink from the bad chalice with promises that it contained lots of alcohol and that Mnat would become irresistible to all men forever and ever and ever. Mnat was stupid. She drank from the chalice. And guess what … it’s froggy time.
Mnat is a Froggy!, created by Floyd Kelly, generated by Midjourney text-to-image artificial intelligence.
Supposedly, to this day you can find Lord Ferrybean at a Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Baily circus somewhere in the world. It’s assumed Mnat is still a frog. We don’t know what happened to the two good sisters, we hope they are okay. The peasant man who got caught up in all of this is now president of a big tech company that makes cajillions of dollars.

Glorptopia, a world of rainbow skies and fluffy clouds, and is where we encountered a creature we term, the Flibber. It was a cross between a jellyfish and a furball, with long, wavy tentacles and a poofy body that bounced as it walked. The Flibber loved to play hide and seek, but it would always give itself away with its giggles. I couldn’t help but laugh along with it, as it pranced and danced in the fields of Glorptopia. No illnesses reported from exposures.

Planet: Jibber4 / Classification 65-5 3023.2.1
On the planet Jibber4, we encountered a creature we call the Jibberjog. It was a bouncing ball of tree trunks with short stubby legs. The Jibberjog was always on the move, and it would invite me to join in its races across the barren landscape. I soon discovered that it was a terrible cheat, always taking shortcuts and hiding behind rocks, but it was all in good fun. One crew member suffered a broken ankle during one of the encounters, he is healing nicely. The ion drive faulted twice and systemic repairs initiated successfully.

Planet Bimble / Classification 65-5 3022.12.15
The planet Bimble was home to the Bimbleboo, a creature that looked like a cross between a kangaroo and a panda. The neighboring lunar tribes have an affinity for this creature. It had fluffy black-and-white fur and strong legs that it used to hop and bound across the rolling hills. The Bimbleboo was incredibly friendly, and it would always offer me a ride on its back. We would travel across the countryside, taking in the stunning views of the purple skies and the towering mountains. I contracted a rhinovirus during the encounter and spent six weeks in isolation and have fully recovered. No other crew members were infected.

Planet Zibber-0 / Classification 65-4 3022.11.06
The planet Zibber-0 was where we encountered the Zibberzap, a creature that was part electric eel and part zebra. It had a long, wriggling body that generated sparks, and it would light up the dark caves and tunnels that it inhabited. The Zibberzap was always eager to explore, and it would lead me on adventures through the twisting passages and sparkling chambers of Zibber-0. We have deposited a beacon in the planet’s exosphere to ask other travellers to not investigate this planet due to the extreme earthquakes and gaseous releases which are toxic.

Planet Glimmer / Classification 65-2 3022.9.22
The planet Glimmer was a world of twinkling stars and glittering dust. It was here that we encountered the Glimmergloop (transcribed from scrolls), a creature that was part blob and part firefly. It had a soft, glowing body that pulsed with light, and it would fly and flit through the air, leaving a trail of glittering dust in its wake. The Glimmergloop was always up for a game of tag, and it was incredibly hard to catch, but the thrill of the chase was worth it. One specimen was collected as deceased when it flew into my helmet and partially disintegrated. All UST Agent4 protocols enacted successfully.

Planet Flibber / Classification 65-2 3022.9.12
The planet Flibber, the sister planet to the previous world, was a planet of swirling colors and shifting shapes. It was here that we encountered the Flibberflop, a creature that was part fish and part bird. Flibberflop was the only name we could imagine. It had a long, flowing body that would ripple and undulate, and it had wings that it would use to soar through the air. The Flibberflop was always up for a good time, and it would play tricks on me, diving and swooping through the air, making me dizzy with laughter. The sound that emanates from this creature is horrendous.

“Spelling Mistakes”, a wild story created by Floyd Kelly; generated in-part by ChatGPT and Midjourney.
In a realm of fantasy, there was a hapless wizard named Wilfred who was infamous for his inability to cast spells correctly.
One fateful day, while attempting to impress a crowd of peasants with his culinary wizardry, he conjured up a wild gourmet feast of bread made of gummy bears and cellulite.
The crowd, understandably unimpressed with his spell, pelted him with rotten vegetables as he sheepishly muttered, “I meant to make escargot.”
It was obvious with Wilfred’s old age, that he had a chronic case of spell amnesia.
To make matters worse, every time he attempted to cast the spell “Lingo Fringo a la Bingo”, he would find himself transported to a crowded supermarket in an unknown city.
One day he accidentally turned all the fruits in the produce section into tiny unicorns, and another day he made all the cash registers to rain down barbecued prunes, but shoppers were not amused.
Sometimes, he couldn’t remember how to reverse the spells, so he had to keep moving to different supermarkets, leaving behind a trail of chaos and bewildered shoppers.
One day, while trying to perform a spell to make himself more powerful, he made a bizarre mistake, and instead of gaining strength, he transformed himself into a chicken.
The unexpected sight of a wizard in the form of a chicken caused quite a stir among his peers. People pointed fingers and laughed at his appearance and upon realizing his error, simply shrugged and said “Oops! My bad.” And from that day on, he made sure to double check his spell incantations before casting them – and even then, that didn’t seem to do much good.
Finally, one day, while trying to cast a spell to teleport himself to a faraway land, he ended up on a crowded subway train in New York City, riding alongside a goat. The smell of flatulence filled the car as the goat let out a series of strange noises, causing the other passengers to scatter. Wilfred was so embarrassed and defeated that he decided to give up his days of casting spells and instead focused on becoming a YouTube star goat farmer living on the outskirts of New York City.
The moral of the story … well, actually there isn’t a moral for this story, but I guess you may want to brush up on spelling, so you don’t end up like Wilfred with a goat.

A short review by YIKIS – ‘Towards the Light’, which starts us off with lovely, deep and rich string overtures. Melodic, they seem to be working to build an anticipation that reaches its apotheosis soon enough when joined by a functional but disappointingly flat rhythmic layer. Despite the flatness, the melodic components, comprised of various strings and piano, manage to surpass and amaze. They swoop us away deftly to realms of bliss and imagination. I feel as if I am clutched in the talons of a great bird who is carrying me over green, pastoral fields, through bright blue skies and maybe periodically we even soar over a cover of clouds, which would be pretty cool too. Yes, I can almost feel this. Toward the end, the piano seems to have an enticing punch, as though the keys were being forcefully driven down by passionate fingers.
On a personal note, I hope I can find a group to perform this piece of music before I pass away.

From an article written on “NotFries.com”
Lost City of Heracleion
The city of Heracleion was mentioned in many Egyptian texts, but for the longest time, there was no evidence that it was real and had ever existed. But that changed when it was finally discovered in 2000 by archaeologist Frank Goddio.
I read this article today and up until today I had not read or heard about a Lost City of Heracleion. Out of curiosity, I decided to see what Midjourney would generate regarding this topic. The only thing I told Midjourney was “Lost City of Heracleion”, nothing else was specified. Here are the images that were generated.
